In the first few weeks of the new year, many of us take stock of the Business Journals Leadership Trustbiggest obstacles we faced and what we learned during the previous year — and smart business owners and leaders do the same. 5. Staying focused on high-priority people and issues

Running a business is hard. Sometimes we allocate a disproportionate amount of energy to problems and challenges instead of using that energy for the clients and teammates who are our biggest fans. The year 2023 taught me that I need to keep my energy focused on the things that are most important to the company.
